Installation

Installing Jake on your Joomla site is a pretty straightforward procedure, since Jake is packaged as a Joomla component ready for import. Depending on your Joomla version you will need to get the appropiate component setup package, and follow the instructions below.

Joomla 1.0

Grab the component package for Joomla 1.0 from Jake Downloads and save it to your hard drive. Next, enter your Joomla administration page in your browser and follow these steps:

STEP 1: Select the menu Installers and click on the option Components, as shown below.

STEP 2: Look for the section Upload Package File as shown in the image below. Next to the Package File field, click the button Browse…, locate your Jake setup package, and click Ok to select the file. Then, click the button Upload File & Install.

STEP 3: Jake should now be installed. If the installation was successful you should see Jake welcome screen, and also find a new option called Jake in the menu Components.

Joomla 1.5

Grab the component package for Joomla 1.5 from Jake Downloads and save it to your hard drive. Next, enter your Joomla administration page in your browser and follow these steps:

STEP 1: Select the menu Extensions and click on the option Install/Uninstall, as shown below.

STEP 2: Look for the section Upload Package File as shown in the image below. Next to the Package File field, click the button Browse…, locate your Jake setup package, and click Ok to select the file. Then, click the button Upload File & Install.

STEP 3: Jake should now be installed. If the installation was successful you should see Jake welcome screen, and also find a new option called Jake in the menu Components.
