Jake’s home on the web

For those of you who have been following the remarkable progress Jake is undergoing this past few days it wouldn’t come as a shock that we finally decided to establish our project on the web. Jake is still on alpha release but will very soon move into beta and as such make the first official release (eventhough we’ve released an alpha version just for whoever couldn’t wait.)
We’re still working very hard on the component, and one of the main tasks we have left before the beta release is writing documentation. Go figure! However we are confident in that we’ll finish this pending tasks soon enough… Bake on, with Jake ![]()

Want to be the first to say hi! Keep baking, guys!
Wow that was fast, I haven’t even finished creating some pages Amy
I’ve revamped the code a lot today and I’m telling you it’s worth the wait…
I am so impressed with you guys! Do you know the impact of what you are doing? Everything possible in phpCake can be run in Joomla!. It’s kind of hard to get your head around how much more capability you just put into the Joomla! engine! Stay encouraged and stick with this! Good stuff. Thanks!!!!
Thanks for your kind words Amy. CakePHP is an amazing framework, and every developer should be dying to use it anytime they can. Did somebody say I take it a little far? Nah!
We will stay with Jake is it is just starting to be born. I’ve been coding like crazy to get it done, and I’m testing it in as many scenarios as I can. So far everything looks good.
Will be great to extend this project from here…
I just have to repeat Amy’s praise. This is so exciting! I decided to go with Joomla 1.5 half a year ago since it is using a MVC framework of its own. But I feel that Cake’s potential is greater and it’s easier to use than Joomlas (for now).
This just feels like a dream come true: My two favourite web projects merged into one!
Keep up the good work!
Excellent work guys! Keep on
Just to let you know that I added a quick mention of Jake in the current issue (7) of Joomla Weekly News
Oops forgot you can download a copy from http://forge.joomla.org/sf/frs/do/listReleases/projects.joomlademocd/frs.joomla_weekly_news
@Brian: Thanks for including Jake on Joomla Weekly News. One correction, though: Jake works not only in Joomla 1.0 but also in Joomla 1.5.
Yes I realised it would work on both. My comment was would it be necessary under 1.5 as 1.5 is a more advanced MVC franework
Oh, but when Joomla! v 1.5 MVC framework is deployed, that is when the truly delicious Jake delicacies will emerge!
I am so glad to see this featured in the Joomla! Weekly News. Good work, Brian!
Wish you good luck for the future! Keep on working!
